Top Five Beaches Worth Visiting In The Costa Del Sol

1. Casa Blanca Beach (Marbella)

Find Casablanca beach in central Marbella and on the famous Golden Mile. Choose from the array of sun parasols to shelter from the hot sun or pick a spot under the small areas of palm trees scattered along this beach. This really is the beach of variety, here you can hire pedalos, bicycles and Segways or use the outdoor gym if  you´re more the sporty type. You also have the choice of a variety of stylish bars and restaurants for a spot of lunch or a refreshing cocktail.

2. Playa de la Siesta (Puerto Banus)

The beach to visit if you´re a fan of the famous Costa del Sol beach clubs as this is the home to the well-known Ocean Club. Here you can order waiter service at your sun bed, sip on a cocktail and listen to the DJ mix before the party atmosphere continues into the night. If you like more of a quiet life, relax on the soft sand of Playa de la Siesta and take a dip in the still sea as you won´t find many waves here.

3. El Cristo (Estepona)

El Cristo is almost 700 metres long and was awarded the Blue Flag in 2018, highlighting it´s strict standards.  This beach makes the perfect spot for small children, the sea is clear and shallow so no sharp dips making it safe for little ones. Unlike a lot of beaches on the Costa del Sol which are south facing, El Cristo faces West which means it´s sheltered by the winds and gets the most sunshine, an ideal spot for gazing at the sunrise and sunset.

4. Playa de la Malagueta (Málaga Capital)

Located to the east and closest to the port of Malaga, La Malagueta measures 1200m and 45m wide. The ideal location for sampling the local cuisine, particularly fresh fish, in one of the fantastic chiringuitos. The big children´s play area makes it the perfect environment for children to have fun in the sand. There´s lots of space so you don´t have to worry about getting there earlier in the more popular months, and if you don´t have a parasol, take shade in one of the pretty grass banks. Keep an eye out on extra activities available in the Summer months too like the Summer Cinema and Floating Platforms.

5. Capistrano Playa (Nerja)

This stunning beach is a real hidden gem tucked away in an intimate cove, framed by rich foliage and rocks. You have to make your way down some pretty steep steps to access it which makes the trek all the more special when you get there. The sea water is crystal turquoise and the ideal snorkelling spot, to catch a glimpse of the marine life. This beach is the ideal environment if you like a quieter and more relaxed sunbathing spot in the warmer months.
